As child I’d gather sticks and rocks to build forts in the woods behind my parents home in suburban Minneapolis. I loved playing with different layouts, materials and imagined a life there.

Years later, I elevated my interest in homes through remodeling and DIY projects on the east and west sides of the Twin Cities. I developed a rapport with contractors. I asked questions and asked to help on the projects to get experience. People noticed I knew what I was talking about; friends and family began to lean on me for advice. I was used to giving advice—I am also an R.N.!

As friends asked me questions about remodeling, I noticed that many were unsure if moving was right for them and also unsure if their current house could be changed to reflect their current lifestyle. They loved their neighborhood, but wanted a mudroom and a new kitchen. They wondered how much it would be to finish the basement given their current mortgage rate was better than anything they could get now. Some needed more space for a growing family.

Why work with me?

There are several reasons. I enjoy helping and teaching others about DIY projects, and can leverage this to great advantage when buying, selling or improving your current house! I also know which jobs are usually best left to professionals, and I avoid builder grade materials. For buyers and sellers, I give realistic potential budgets for their wish list of improvements, as many underestimate these costs. I am also not incentivized to urge people only to buy and sell.

I have affiliations with trusted and well established local design/build firms. Many of these firms I have personally hired as a regular homeowner before launching TPC, so I know how they treat people.
